After finished doing microteaching for set induction as well as for pre, while and post reading, lots of useful tips and teaching techniques that I have acquired. To start, for the set induction, we can played them a music (must be those that they are familiar with), a video clip or a movie clip in order to get their attention. As for pre reading, it is advisable for teachers to put an extract that only fit in one page. We need to read the extract for the students while they are underlining or circling and must remember that that the words must be pronounced correctly with the right intonation. We surely don’t want our students to look down at us right?
Besides that, Dr. Edwin also advised that we need to use the projector to display the extract to easy for students to see which lines where the words or sentence that they’re asking to search.
In addition, he also told us that if we want our students to write an essay, there must be an outline provides for them. This will make them easy to get the idea that they are asking for which directly easy for them to write the essay.
During the microteaching, we are corrected by Dr. Edwin and being commented on the spot. He pointed out our mistakes and asked us to do it again. Even though sometimes it is a bit disturbing and made us lost our direction and forgot the words that we want to say (sorry Dr. Edwin) but I do feel that it is more effective and helpful rather than if he give the comment after the microteaching. It is because I am sure we will feel uncertain which part that he is talking about. From of all our coursemates, I think Amadifilzah have did well in her microteaching. She has a loud, clear voice which manage to attract the students' attention. She do have a personality of a teacher inside of her.

I would like to comment about our micro teaching session as we were partner this task. Let start with the set induction, we are required to attract students interest towards the literal work that we going to watch. In this session, although it is easy to find song or video clip, but we must acknowledge whether the song and video clip are appropriate and whether it related to what we teach. Some of us used pictures and power point presentation but Dr Edwin asked them to change it as it was not related to what we going to teach. As for Lenny and I, we used song for this stage but Dr Edwin commented that our questions for this stage are not really related to the song. He also commented that we unable to review what are being taught during the closure, we should be able to summarize the lesson effectively. We only got c+ for this session. Then for our second micro teaching, we were able to improve our grade. We used all Dr Edwin advices, and tried to create suitable questions and the questions were related to one another worksheet after worksheet. During our session, Dr. Edwin pointed out our mistakes in the middle of our lesson. Although it was hard for us to correct immediately as he required us to change the way we asked the students, the way we speak and even the questions but I do agree that it was effective and helpful to train us in real world when we are out there to be teachers. Dr Edwin trained us how to speak in class and what words appropriate to use. This was when I realized that although most of us are consider have good proficiency in English as we are TESL students, we still cant speak fluently and unable to choose appropriate words in class. Furthermore, I realized teaching is not an easy task, we really have to plan what we are supposed to teach whether the exercises we will be using really help the students to have better understanding. For our second micro teaching, we got B which was good enough; we were able to adapt what Dr Edwin has taught us during our first micro teaching session.
